About Volunteer and Internship Opportunities

 

At Keystone Hospice, we pride ourselves on being experts in end-of-life care in Indiana, as well as national leaders in palliative care. Volunteers are important members of our circle of care and we truly value & support them!  We offer volunteer opportunities in both clinical (working directly with patients and families) and non-clinical (office and special event support “behind the scenes”) roles.  We rely heavily on and greatly appreciate our volunteers who offer their skills and gifts to our patients, families, and organization. 

 

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Office Support Volunteers:  The first days of being in hospice can be overwhelming for patients and families. Receiving a call to check in to see how they are doing could bring comfort. Another part is calling patients and families after they receive their first volunteer visit just to make that friendly call telling them Keystone Hospice is here for you.

 

Helping Hands Volunteers: Keystone Hospice is seeking volunteers to provide company for residents at Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Facilities by just being present in good conversation, hosting dances, playing card games and bingo nights. Residents who have life limiting illness will enjoy the activities run by volunteers as it is an integral part of bringing the feeling of home to the facilities.

 

Direct Patient Volunteer Support: Currently we are accepting applications for volunteers to visit and support our patients & families in the home and facility (skilled nursing and assisted living).

 

Keystone Hospice Weekend Greeters:  Are you a volunteer that would not mind volunteering your time on a weekend and being a warm and friendly face by welcoming patients, family, friends and guests as a greeter? Come and help us make our guests at home through a warm and friendly greeting.

The Volunteer Process

 

1. Fill out a volunteer application: 

 

             

 

2. Come in for an interview and meet our Volunteer Coordinator. 

3. Complete our Volunteer Training.

4. Begin volunteering with Keystone Hospice!
